Those poor fishers in the beginning tried everything they could to save their boats, but they just couldn’t fight the current. I hope they survived.

The thing is they expected a meter high tsunami. I think so many did because the slumping of land, created a massive underwater wave, which deflected by the ocean topogrsphy, into extra ordinary water forms. Totally out of the blue disaster.

That breaking wave doesn't look that big ... until you compare to the size of the boats near the shore.

I can not imagine the amount of clean up that had to happen. And then to rebuild! Much respect for the Japanese people.

So wait...this is "The massive Japanese Tsunami" that cause the nuclear melt down? Like that's all it was? It was just a mild swell?? I've never seen the videos from it before. Uhhhh, sounds like they used this as an excuse for the nuclear accident. This was an extremely mild swell. Yes water has a lot of power behind it but this should have been easily and simply handled.

Hi, i remember perfectly that years ago here on UA-cam there was a low quality video taken from almost this same spot in which you could see the first (breaking) tsunami wave that hit this location just 1-2 minutes before the second one on this video, a wave that almost surpassed the seawall already (the sign left by the wave splashing on the shores is clearly visible in the very beginning of the video). I can't find that clip anymore. Have you ever seen it? That first wave is visible on the video "Shimoakka Fishing Port" on your channel at the 4:16 minute mark, shot from the very opposite end of Nodamura Bay.,
